Tie Dye Peace Sign- Home Drive in:Good Old Days

Editors Note: I have look all over the web gathering up some great articles on Tie Dye Peace Sign type of art. Along with some great images of some fantastic work. But for now, I hope these articles by various authors at Ezine Articles, should give you some insight to what the art of tie dye is all about. And how to let that hippie inside you loose, and most importantly just have blast! after all that's what tie dye is all about, getting together with family & friends and seeing what kind of crazy tie dye fashions you can make for yourselves.

Home Drive-In: Relive Those "Good Old Days"
By Leland Griffin, Jr

Home Drive-In: Relive those "Good Old Days" in your own backyard.

Remember the Drive-In Movies, when two people would buy tickets and two or three other couples would be hiding in the trunk? Remember taking blankets and lawn chairs, maybe a cooler (always a pint of something) and partying more than actually watching the movie? Why not relive those "Good Old Days" in your own backyard. Always looking for a unique way to entertain our friends we decided on "Retro Drive-In".

Listed is what we needed:

1. Drive-In Food: Hot Dogs, Popcorn, Ice Cream Sandwiches, Soda and Beer

2. Required Dress: From 50's Greaser, Beatnik, To Flower Power Hippie with Afro and/or

Bell-bottoms (bring on the Peace Signs)

3. Movies: (DVD or Blu-ray works best) You pick the theme

4. Player and Projector: (many with over 30 ft. diagonal abilities)

5. Sound system (Boombox etc.): make sure to check local noise ordinance (or invite all the neighbors)

6. Huge Screen ( and this posed a problem)

The surface has to be reflective and very white for a high contrast image. A little research helped me choose the fabric "muslin" as it comes in a bright white color with widths up to 10 feet locally. Maximum extra wide-screen size without splicing is 10 ft. by 23.5 ft. (for me this was perfect). I then purchased seven 8 ft lengths of rigid conduit, four connectors and four 90 degree elbows. I then found two adjustable tent poles that could expand over 6 ft. each. I next prepared the fabric by sewing curtain like sleeves along all four sides that could accommodate the connectors (either add material or slightly reduce screen size to create). Put two sets of three 8 foot pieces of rigid conduit together using two connectors each and insert into the top and bottom sleeves. Mount elbows to the ends of the inserted rods making sure they are parallel.

For vertical tension cut the remaining rigid conduit to achieve the needed height when used with the tent poles. Insert same into end sleeves (note: sleeves may need to be larger to accommodate the adjustment method of the tent poles used). Insert ends into adjacent elbows and tighten with tent poles. If the screen is too loose adjust top and bottom rails by adding additional conduit as needed. Hang Screen (my best spot is off the deck).

If you have an East facing position with a solid building behind it, dusk works well to start the show.

Invite Family and Friends and let the party begin.

Enjoy!

Tie Dye Peace Sign- Choosing Pandora Style Beads

Editors Note: I have look all over the web gathering up some great articles on Tie Dye Peace Sign type of art. Along with some great images of some fantastic work. But for now, I hope these articles by various authors at Ezine Articles, should give you some insight to what the art of tie dye is all about. And how to let that hippie inside you loose, and most importantly just have blast! after all that's what tie dye is all about, getting together with family & friends and seeing what kind of crazy tie dye fashions you can make for yourselves.

Choosing Pandora Style Beads - Stylish Trinkets For Your Wrists
By Sue Mitchell

If you're on the lookout for high quality customised jewelry, you should look for Pandora style beads. The original Pandora jewelries are made from Denmark, and they specialise in thematic bead bracelets which combine glass bead designs with quaint Celtic charms. What's special about these Pandora style beads is that they also tell a story. The bracelets can be very modern-with bag and shoe charms for girls who like to shop, or they could also be very traditional, with charms that have symbolic charms for Hannukah.

There are also Pandora style that were inspired by the Beatle's song "All you need is Love". You'll definitely feel like you're brought back to the era of the 60s with peace signs, swirls, hearts and flowers integrated into the wrist band's design. There are also style beads that were inspired by goodwill causes, like the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. You can own as many style beads as you like, as long as you're true to yourself when you chose them. Each of these beads must reflect who you are as a person.

Those who are fans of name tag jewelry would be glad to know that there are also style beads that spell out the owner's names. The letter beads come in a variety of styles, so you can be as minimalistic or as elaborate as you like. Are you worried that you're paying too much for original Pandora style? The brand has gained quite a following, and in its wake are also replica pieces produced by other manufacturer's wishing to ride with the popularity.

More than the prestige of having original style beads, you should worry about the quality of the materials used on your bracelets. Most of these replicas look very close to original Pandora bracelets, but they're made from nickel charms and beads, so they will tend to fade easily. If you must buy replicas, look for those that use 925 silver beads and charms. This way, your bracelets won't deteriorate even well after a year. Nickel charms and bracelets lose their luster very fast.

If you choose to buy 925 silver beads, then you're going to have no problems with the quality of the beads and charms. Just look for a reputable retailer online. Be wary of websites that are imitating Pandora, you can tell this from the quality of the photos and the prices. The prices are too cheap the usually so are the beads.

Managing the aclickahead writers team is the major activity Sue Mitchell performing these days. She is expert in writing on Corporate Gifts. Besides handsome professional experience being a leading writer on Pandora Style Beads

Tie Dye Peace Sign- A Few Easy Tips for Making World Peace

Editors Note: I have look all over the web gathering up some great articles on Tie Dye Peace Sign type of art. Along with some great images of some fantastic work. But for now, I hope these articles by various authors at Ezine Articles, should give you some insight to what the art of tie dye is all about. And how to let that hippie inside you loose, and most importantly just have blast! after all that's what tie dye is all about, getting together with family & friends and seeing what kind of crazy tie dye fashions you can make for yourselves.

A Few Easy Tips For Making World Peace a Reality in Our Lifetime
By Alexson Lee

Could we mere lay mortals really make a contribution towards World Peace Now?

Taking some thoughts from the book Peace Within Our Grasp By Crandall R. Kline Jr., August 1999, Crandall suggested that for us to have world peace, humanity need to be activists, writing newspapers and (Government) on the issues relating to war prevention. In other words, we need to be proactive in this world to make things happen. There are views that world peace could be achieved by internalise peace within each individual. I believe in both approaches and they need to go hand in hand.

Why don't we have peace yet despite the numerous efforts throughout the history on this planet?

In my opinion, wars and fighting have become an accepted part of our lives. Just see the violence portrayed in the movies, tv shows, computer games etc, we are reminded that they are normal things to happen in our lives. These are not natural phenomenon, yet becoming increasingly accepted especially by children who are keen to play games, read books etc.

Our subconscious has been directed towards the idea that violence is normal and is expected even in our society. We need to change that!!!

Secondly, I think we need more compassionate governments around the world. I think only spiritual people should run the governments in order compassionate grounds become the utmost consideration above all, to preserve lives, to be fair and just. Universal humanitarianism is essential to solve global conflicts as Dalai Lama recommend in order to progress towards world peace.

Thirdly, I believe everybody needs to make an effort. I know it may not be possible depending on circumstances. Some people are simply not have the right frame of mind, conditions to do so. But we could all try. Additionally, we need one voice to make it executable. We have different peace organisations working within certain areas but there are no collaboration between peace making organisations.

We need to make one stand against all governments everywhere at the same time!!! Only then we can keep watch on all government, so called elected people to run our demands. We could have a one concerted effort to bring about change we want. We have the people power against the governments should they act against world peace making efforts. I think this solution would bring about conflicts on its own. We do not need that. But there are things though that we could do to help bring about world peace through subconscious minds. Even the people elected for governing the world could be influence we all do.

Solutions for World Peace the Easy Way

The 14th Dalai Lama of Tiber states that no former generation has experienced more constant awareness of fear and tension that we all face today. His holiness contemplates that current climates of fear, war, disasters, man-made or natural ones, would make any sensitive and compassionate person question seriously the progress of our modern world. I believe in agreement with Dalai Lama that compassion is the pillar of world peace. In addition, inner peace is paramount first step towards world peace.

Dalai Lama advocates that we go beyond the attachment type of compassion, for example the ones exist within family, friendship etc. He said that this type of compassion last as long as the attachment goes. He recommends that we need to go beyond that level of compassion towards undiscriminating, spontaneous, and unlimited compassion. How do we achieve this type of compassion? From personal experience, inner light and sound meditation would help us to get in tune with our compassionate nature and bring it forth into our daily lives. For ideas on how to meditate and where to get more information, please visit rel=nofollow http://www.holeepassion.com.

World Peace is everybody's responsibility. Peace can't be achieved by one man or one organisation or one country. Peace can only be acquired if humanity bands together to demand it. No one person could be acquired, since we are in this together. Everybody uses the same basic requirements for their existence like air, water, food, etc. Compassionate and just solutions to share those basic needs are paramount to world peace. Everybody is at different level of spiritual attainment, although deep within we strive to attain spiritual liberation and understanding. However, we need reminder now and again on how to achieve this.

To raise the peace consciousness, the upper brain must be in control. How do we control it? If you have read the stuff about the Secret, then you would know that what we think would eventually happen in some degree or another. I believe that peace signs, words would encourage us to think more about peace, consciously or subconsciously. I think that this is one of the best way, subtle yet effective for everyone to do. If we have enough people, say a million people wearing peace pendants constantly, bringing peace consciousness and bring to their homes, offices, wherever they go with peace consciousness, they would bring about the chain reaction to their inner circles. It would be a dream to have everybody wears peace signs, words, to signify that world peace is already there and we intend to keep it.

If you like the idea and value handmade jewellery like I do, check out the following handcrafted peace pendants http://www.peacebids.com.

We are all responsible for world peace and hence our efforts might determine its realisation. I hope you make the right choice and join the efforts, using the easy steps I have pointed out. At the end of the day, we only would feel great that we know we make some efforts to make this world a better place before it is too late.

Tie Dye Peace Sign- Get in Touch with the Hippie Culture

Get in Touch With the Hippie Culture
By Jay Brandley

The term hippie is often misunderstood by many. When thinking of the word or term hippie, many people often picture a bunch of people with beards and headbands with peace signs and bell-bottom jeans.

Well, there is much more to the definition of what a hippie or the hippie movement is. The term hippie was popularized in the 60s, and is said to be derivative of the word hipster. The hippie movement originated and was popularized in the United States of America. Since the 1960s, the hippie movement has been spread worldwide and you will most likely see many people around the world wherever you go favoring the hippie movement.

The hippie movement was all about peace and love and freedom. These concepts are commonly known. The 1960s was a time of big change and adjustment. It was a time of war. I am sure that you are familiar with the Vietnam War. During this time, older men as well as young boys who had just turned eighteen were being drafted to join the army. Many of these older men and young boys who were sent to fight in the Vietnam War did not make it home alive. This is a very touchy subject for many, so I will not delve too deep in it. The point that I am trying to stress is that the 60s was molded by people who fought in the war happening at that time, the people who supported this war, and the people who sought for peace and strongly believed in love and freedom.

These people who strongly believed in love and freedom were called hippies. These concepts were the root of the hippie culture, and the hippie movement with this foundation of beliefs has stood the test of time up until today. There are still many people who consider themselves to be hippies.

As with many concepts and movements, there are other things that spring from this belief and the hippie movement also has its own fashion trends and a sort of stereotyped clothing and apparel.

Now when we look at the fashion aspect of the hippie movement, things like colorful tie dye t-shirts and patchwork bell-bottom jeans and even Boho tribal styled skirts come to mind. The hippie trends and fashions of the 60s has survived and made it to the twenty first century.

The hippie movement along with its beliefs and fashion trends has survived up until today making it nearly fifty years old.

Tie Dye Peace Sign- Great Hippie Jewlery

Great Hippie Jewelry
By Jacob S Simon

One of the easiest ways to show your love for the 60s is hippie jewelry. It can be discrete if you want, but still quietly state your outlook in a stylish and elegant way.

Groovy hippie jewelry doesn't have to be any particular style, but some designs are more hippie than others. For example cubic zirconia rings aren't the first thing you think of, but if don't tastefully could still work if worked into silver or pewter. Certainly cubic zirconia is more hippie than diamonds because they aren't as focused on money which The Man, or Corporate America, so esteems.

A bracelet for the neck or ankle, necklace or ring are all great options for bohemian jewelry and are great for men or women. Jewelry made of silver, stone or handmade beads are very nice. Bead jewelry can have almost any theme. Stars, earth, rasta, music, love, sex; anything goes. Hemp jewelry is also popular. One of the more unique jewelry items is claddagh rings or other wedding rings. These are often hand made by silversmiths and can be bought at Renaissance fairs.

Peace jewelry is one of the most popular jewelry items for those looking for 60s fashion. Hippie earrings with peace signs worked into the design are just too classic to pass by, but can be too commercial if you aren't careful. What you want to look for to be an authentic wearer of hippie clothes is unique hippie jewelry. Certainly such items can have peace signs, but don't forget flowers, especially sunflower, rose and daisy designs, the word LOVE and PEACE, smiley faces and other designs that can still get your point across. Rainbows also lend themselves quite easily to hippie stuff.

The well-known music of the 60s is also another theme you will find commemorated in jewelry. The music of the Grateful Dead, Janis Jopin, Jimi Hendrix and later artists like Bob Marley is honored by crafted products available at your local head shop.

At such places you can usually also check out cool threads, groovy bags, hippie clothing and buy gift certificates. You'll also find hemp gear in new styles, clothing and accessories and great jewelry & watches at bargains shopping hippies cannot resist. In the glass cases you will find fashion jewelry too cool and hip for other local stores. There are some great local artists who sell there wares in these local shops. If you unique is what you are looking for, start here.

But, if you just want it now, look online. It will save you a trip. There are lots of great items you friends won't have, and with a fair price tag. You can get great gypsy jewelry, safe and sound from home. And they'll ship it right to you.

To ensure a good overall shopping experience look for a site that includes reviews on their product catalog pages and is secure for Mastercard orders. Be sure and read the description and other information like the terms. If you are lucky you can find a site that offers other goodies like free shipping.

A hippie shop online or locally can guide you as you make your purchases. They should also be able to tell you if you are buying something that is eco friendly or made with organic processes. Either way, hippie jewelry will be the perfect accessory to enhance your unique boho style.

Jacob S. Simon is an expert in hippie clothing. He writes about hippie jewelry, hippie interests, and other hippie stuff on his site.

Tie Dye Peace Sign- Reliving the Summer of Love

Editors Note: I have look all over the web gathering up some great articles on Tie Dye Peace Sign type of art. Along with some great images of some fantastic work. But for now, I hope these articles by various authors at Ezine Articles, should give you some insight to what the art of tie dye is all about. Reliving the Summer of Love
By San Kim Nguyen

For anyone who lived through the era of the hippie - Woodstock, the Vietnam War and everything that came along with it, nostalgia for that time is strong. But even if you weren't around when free love ruled, it was a time that has so captured the imagination of future generations that we love to think about what it would have been like. Who hasn't given some though to the freedom of the hippies? To riding across the country in a VW van, or attending the greatest music festival in history, Woodstock?

We can't go back in time, we all know that. But the Summer of Love isn't all that far away either. We still have the music, the attitude, and of course the fashion - it's not hard to take a little side trip back in time with a retro costume that makes you feel like a hippie. The good thing about the fantasy? You can take all the fun of hippie culture and leave out the poor hygiene!

Being a flower child is easy with a basic hippie costume. You can even take free love to another level with some of the really sexy version of the hippie look that are available today. Fringes, peace signs and long straight hair are the trademark of the hippie, and with short skirts and bikini tops the look reaches super sexy really fast. Don't forget to put a flower in your hair and flash a peace sign when you head out to the Halloween party in a sexy hippie look.

Hippie costumes aren't just great for Halloween though. They're great to have on hand for a 60's or 70's themed party at any time of year. In fact, if you decide to throw on yourself you will have a blast, and all your friends will love the chance to dress up like flower children for a night. All you need is some classic rock, a few lava lamps and for everyone to show up in the right costumes, and you can really feel like you are re-living the summer of love.

The era of the hippie was a time of social unrest - but it was also a time of great music, unforgettable fashion and a feeling of peace, love and understanding that most of us today can only imagine. This memorable time in history will probably never happen again, but there is no reason we can't bring it back to life whenever we want - at Halloween or any time. Retro costumes from the hippie era are a great place to start.

Tie Dye Peace Sign-Hippie Halloween Costumes for 2010

Editors Note: I have look all over the web gathering up some great articles on Tie Dye Peace Sign type of art. Along with some great images of some fantastic work. But for now, I hope these articles by various authors at Ezine Articles, should give you some insight to what the art of tie dye is all about. Hippie Halloween Costumes Are Groovy For 2010!
By Bob Minelli

So you want to dress up this Halloween and you're just not sure of what it is will get you feelin' good about your costume choice. Well think about how a Hippie Halloween costume would fit you. The best thing about getting into a Hippie costume is that they are just so much fun to accessorize. Not talking about the actual outfits themselves right now...let's look at the accessories.

What are the theme's that Hippie Halloween costumes play off of? Well, you have your Flower Power, Peace Symbols, Happy Faces and so on. Some great accessories are the Hippie sunglasses. Perfect circle lenses in all kinds of colors. Even sunglasses with peace signs on the front....groovy baby...groovy.

Also you have the peace sign necklaces and peace sign earrings. There's even peace sign shoe clips! We could go on and on...and the Hippie party supplies have even more choices.

When my two children, my girlfriend and myself dressed up three years ago as hippies, we had a blast! I actually let my hair grow for the whole year. The longest it's ever been, way past my ears and the bangs came past my nose. My girlfriend did this thing where she straightened her hair, man she looked (looks) hot. My kids opted to wear wigs. Our outfits just tied everything together perfectly. I got a simple shirt and hippie vest, head band, necklaces and bracelets and used my own ripped jeans and sandals. My girlfriend did her jeans too, but sewed on some peace patches here and there. The kids got full blown costumes. We loved it so much, we're doing it again this year...and my kids will need new costumes...but that's ok.

Now, if you're a couple thinking about taking the Hippie plunge and by all means I'm sure you'll look darn good doing so...you may even want to consider hosting a Halloween party using the wild hippie decorations to keep your theme playing out throughout your home. I'm sure all your friends would love to join in on the fun. And even more fun is having everyone bring a carved pumpkin to the party and lighting them outside when it gets dark out. The kids will love it!

Cheers and have a safe and groovy Halloween baby!
